During five days, and without any further indication, a brass plate of 126 x 15,7 inches was fixed to the ground of an outdoor area reserved for smokers, installation designed by Thornander-Simantov for a cultural center in Paris (1).
It received shocks, cigarette burns, stiletto punches as would a hard-wear-tested piece of metal which stigmas have definitely ruined the smooth and flashy surface.
Marked by the prints of the visitors, this plate was subsequently placed in a different context, this time with the role of an incarnated body revealing its environment.
Identifiable with a character, the brass sheet then passed through various daily-life situations (2), high-lighting their quietly dramatic tone.
